There is a village near to the Sialkot called Jamke Cheema where the a child drowned in canal.

According to details, the child was only 12 years old. The child went to fetch water from hand pump on the canal. The step forward to look at the water and his foot slipped and fell into the canal. There was deep pits in places in the canal where the child fell.

The child did not return home the night he went to fetch water on canal. When his family found out the child had not returned home yet, they went and asked the people around him. When they found out that child had fallen into the canal, they immediately informed to Rescue team. 

When the rescue team was notified, it tool a while for the team to reach the spot. 

At the moment they launched their operation and went down into the canal to look for the child. The rescue team accompanied by boats and some divers who were doing their best to find the child. Despite their best effort that night, the body of child couldn’t be found. Finally, In the morning, they pulled the baby’s body out of the canal.

When the baby’s body was taken out, the people around him were terrified to see the baby’s condition because when the body was taken out, his hand ,feet were stiff and color was completely black. When the family members saw the body of the child, their condition cannot be discribe in the words.

• The child was an orphan, his father had died a long time ago and his mother was also ill.

Fowling the accident, the area administration issued an announcement that no children would come to fetch water from the canal at night. If a child is seen at night on the canal, strict action will be taken against the child and his/her parents.
